  1. I was about to say “I’m done” when I heard Kristen say Trump “fumbled” it. Thankfully she was more forceful later in the show. Still too much “what aboutism” and false equivalency from Kristin. I appreciated Jay’s clear statement that didn’t try to blame the left for Trump’s behavior and sedition. Nothing “the left” has done can excuse the last 2 months.

  2. While I am always happy to hear everyone’s viewpoint on political discourse, I have a blunt comment for Kristin and Jay. As an independent voter, trying to find commonality with the Conservative side of American politics is like trying to fit a cube into a triangular hole. While I know the both of you are exceptional individuals who care most about rational and civil debate, I have to admit I’m a bit frustrated with your more recent responses towards what is clearly a complex and dangerous fascist animus within the ranks of the Republican Party. You’ve both known for much longer than two months, that Trump is a dangerous and destructive individual. While we can make assertions that the Democratic party harbors far-left elements that we should be aware of, they are in no way, shape, or form close to what we’ve seen, hijack the Republican party’s platform. I’m just not really happy with the notion of: “we didn’t think it would get this bad”. Jay, you said Trump is delusional. He’s been delusional since he was a child. How can the Republican party even pretend to play dumb when they, and rightwing misinformation have helped goad this movement for decades, at this point? The Conservatives at the Federal level, have been more radical. Their reckless platform of propping up billion-dollar conglomerates (with tax-breaks in the trillions), supporting misaligned and failed wars abroad, and waging war on Science has cost so much money that it would make a Liberal blush.

At this point, I have to pin my hope on a party that’s not been engulfed by conspiracy-rife, militant extremism. As much anger and frustration I have with Democrats, I feel that they are objectively, the safer group for Americans to put their faith and trust in. Until the Republican party sheds QAnon, “Reaganomics”, Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, OAN, Newsmax, Limbaugh, Trump and dozens of other individuals and media groups – it is just not a positive and safe party for a healthy minded individual to even contemplate voting for.

I don’t mean this to be personal, but enough is enough. Trump was a terrible bet from jump. You all knew it. I hope for the best, but until we deal with this movement – which is incredibly similar in progression to the rise of Nazism in Germany – we’re not safe.

I don’t pretend to be an expert in this field, but having a Bachelors in Economics (Univ. of South Carolina), a cognate in Political Science, and working towards an MBA, I’m not completely clueless on the issues.

I wish you all the best. Kristin and Jay – my comments are only meant to be my opinion, and not personal attacks.
