In this week’s show Trey and Ken start by talking about Biden’s proposal to curb crime. The pair get into the stats and whether or not a bold crime push is even a good idea. Then they turn to the New York Mayoral race. Here the talk about rank choice voting and how crime rates may have factored into the primary. Next the pair turn to what Trey calls the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill that wasn’t. Did anything really happen? Trey and Ken finish the show examining two U.S. Supreme Court cases, one on student speech rights outside of school grounds and the other on whether the NCAA violated anti-trust laws.

Mike and Jay this week as the ACA Supreme Court trilogy reaches its thrilling conclusion. As often is the case, the sequels just aren’t as good and the Court dismisses for lack of standing. Jay and Mike talk about standing severability and a mandate that really looks unconstitutional but is as toothless as that Abominable Snow Monster at the end of Rudolf. Then — Happy Juneteenth! Mike and Jay agree that our new holiday is good one and discuss why.  Next, disco may be dead, but 70s style inflation may be making a comeback. Are the Feds expected rate hikes a drag or just groovy enough for the economy to keep on truckin’?  And finally, its back to the Supreme Court where Justice Alito’s had a busy week. Religious liberty wins 9-0, but is the Court ducking the question on the free exercise clause?

Should it work? Have standards been applied evenly to both parties? Then it’s off to inflation where Trey argues government spending is leading to unhealthy levels of inflation while Ken argues things are fine as is. Finally the two look at the outcome from the Senate’s investigation into the January 6 insurrection.
